Costs - Adviceline Injury Lawyers

No Win, No Fee

Adviceline Injury Lawyers understand that many injured people are concerned about affording the legal representation that they need.

For approved work injury, transport accident, public liability and medical negligence cases we offer that all the work we do is on a No Win, No Fee basis. This means that if you are not successful in obtaining compensation, we do not charge you anything at all for our professional time.

By No Win, No Fee, Adviceline Injury Lawyers enables you to get the legal advice you need. If we don’t recommend that you proceed or you do not recover any compensation, we will not charge you any legal fees.

If you are successful in obtaining money we will then charge our legal costs as well as a success fee, which is a 25% uplift on your costs.

Disbursements

Disbursements are money that we pay out on your behalf, such as for doctors’ reports and court fees. If your claim is not successful, you may still be responsible for paying disbursements under our No Win, No Fee arrangement.

Adviceline Injury Lawyers does not force you to take out loans to pay for your disbursements. If we consider that your claim has legal merit, we will generally only charge you for disbursements at the conclusion of your matter.

If you are worried about affording the cost of disbursements, ask us about Law Aid. Law Aid is a not-for-profit scheme managed by the Law Institute of Victoria and the Victorian Bar Council. If your application is accepted, Law Aid can pay your disbursements as you go, reducing any risk of being “out of pocket”.

Cap on Costs

Adviceline Injury Lawyers wants to make sure that the majority of any compensation you do receive goes to you, rather than lawyers’ fees. That’s why, for most work injury and transport accident cases, we agree to cap your total costs and disbursements at between 15% to 25% of the total amount you get in your pocket. The actual cap depends on your case and your personal circumstances – contact us on 1300 MY INJURY for more information about how our cap on costs could benefit you.

We are proud of our cap on costs. When you are choosing your legal representation, we invite you to compare our cap on costs with other firms.

Union Members

We have worked for union members and with the union movement for 30 years. If you are a union member, ask us about our union preferential rates.
